Welcome 2007: Unfolding our Creative Consciousness
- Jane Booth
Each New Year's Day we welcome a New Year with each of us taking a moment to reflect on the past years and to wonder
how this New Year will unfold. Some of us will make resolutions or set new goals while others won't bother anymore
as they have stopped making unrealistic goals and still others just feel they don't have any control over what is
happening in their lives, so why bother at all with resolutions or goals.
But there is another way of starting the New Year, it is to develop a "Creative Consciousness", a
consciousness where you are the creators of your life. With a Creative Consciousness, you allow your creative
expression to flow in endless forms and something very mystical and spiritual begins to occur. We begin to
discover thoughts, ideas, art forms that seem to just flow from us. Artists, like Alma Rumball (see
her story on our site), say that it's as if
someone else is creating the picture or story. I know that feeling when I write after my meditations. I just allow
the thoughts to flow from me and often wonder at the "messages" as I call them, that I receive. You can
view some of theses messages in our "Daily Messages".
But how do we allow our creativity to bloom when stress and life challenges are pushed in our face each day?
How do we creatively visualize new ideas or creatively manifest what we want our life? And does the simple act
of visualization bring us what we want? Or is there a deeper connection?
The greatest tool I have found to unfold my creativity is meditation. When I give myself permission to quiet my
mind for a few minutes each day, meditation provides me with a space within where I can visualize how I would like
my life to unfold and I begin to feel a sense of peace within. Meditation really is a form of art as you may see
colours, forms and shapes and sometimes sounds that can bring comfort. It provides a personal, private artistic
gallery just for us! It provides a "time out" from the chaos of our outer world and to experience another part
of our consciousness that is quiet and serene. It allows us to meet our inner Self.
I feel meditation is very much a part of developing a Creative Consciousness as we come to an inner meeting with the
Divine consciousness and guidance that is connected to us. We develop a trust that each of our experiences, whether
positive or negative from our perspective, develops from our life manifestations that occur to show us exactly what
we need to learn or experience in each moment. Yet, there is always the unknown with so many unanswered questions
that can still make us fearful. But as we meditate and feel a spiritual connection, we sense we are not alone on
this human/spiritual journey as we are connected in a mysterious, energetic way to all life. Our fears of the
unknown begin to subside. So trusting in the unknown, embracing the unknown, and allowing the unknown to show
peaceful living becomes our way of being. There is a shift in perspective and a move towards Creative
Consciousness. We become co-creators with a life force that many call the Divine Spirit, God/Goddess, the
Source, the Great Mystery.
The time is now to reveal your Creative Consciousness by using your inner talents in whatever way you desire to
express your feelings, thoughts and inner knowing so we may all grow and benefit from your inner gifts. As we look
back in history, we see it revealed through the artists and artisans who used their talents so we can have a glimpse
of what they were experiencing in their lifetime. We don't have to be great artists, but simply allow a way of
self-expression to flow and grow. Our artistry, like the universe, is limitless and always creating something new.
As we begin 2007, I look forward to assisting you in my Peaceful Path Holistic and Meditation Workshops
and in the new Star Circle, a gathering of girls ages
8-17 for a program of creative empowerment for their body, mind and spirit, as we discover tools and ways to allow
your creativity to flow and enrich your life.
May your New Year unfold and open to new and creative ways to bring you love and peace.
